St. Patty's Day Craft

I decided to make a St. Patty's day craft yesterday.  My dad's side of the family (The Tyrone's) comes from Ireland, so I do have some Irish roots.  I really enjoyed seeing all the green crafts out in the blogging world, and I decided to try my hand at making one.

I started with a blank canvas board.
I painted it green.
I used a sponge brush and painted several thin layers until I was happy with the color.
(Sorry no picture of this step)
I used Paint.net and printed up the letters for "kiss me"

I cut out the letters and then traced them onto a cardboard box (leftover oatmeal box).
Then I cut out those letters.

I painted the letters a gold color.
I free handed a shamrock onto the board and traced it with a sharpie.  (I really wish I had paint markers)
I free handed the words "I'm Irish" and painted over those with a tee-shirt paint tube.
I arranged the letters for Kiss Me.
Then I mod podged it all together and let it dry.

The finished product now sits on my fireplace mantle.

*I still feel my crafting is pretty juvenille, but I think that is mostly because my craft stash is tiny! I haven't had a lot of time or money to invest in building up my inventory yet.*

Things I learned on this craft:
* I used my spray adhesive on my cardboard, then let it dry for a few minutes, and it held my letters in place, but they were easy to remove for cutting.
*I had to put a lot of mod podge on my board for my Kiss Me letters to stick.

What do you think??
