U R My "Sun" Shine

I have had the craft itch for a long time, but I had no idea what I want to make.  I got some great inspiration from Kelli {*Random Thoughts of a Supermom*} and her patio makeover reveal, in particular her outdoor wall art.  Our fireplace was in need of some color, so I went to work!!

I started with a blank white canvas, and painted it a gorgeous blue.

This is my absolute favorite color to use at the moment.

I have these big, black block letter stickers that I got at Wal-Mart, and I painted them white while my canvas dried.

While my letters dried, I painted a sun on the canvas.
I wasn't happy about the edges of the rays, so I went around them with a t-shirt paint.

*I am still not really happy with how the sun turned out.*

While the sun dried, I added some decorations to my letters to make them pop a little more.

I mod podged the letters on, and set it outside to dry.

Here is the finished sign hanging on my fireplace.

What do you guys think??

It really added some color!!

Now to figure out some thing to go on either side of it!!
