Countdown to a new school year!

Wow!  I cannot believe how quickly the summer flew by!  Is it really the middle of August already?  Where does the time go?

I am feeling a little bit guilty because we have nothing to show for our summer.  We didn't take any trips, we didn't go any where awesome, we didn't do....well, anything!  With the temps soaring the past month, can you really blame me??

It has been anywhere from 100 to 110+ and that is with out the heat index, no joke!!  It takes all my strength just to go get groceries with all the kids, much less get out and do something fun!

I have started watching 2 little girls Monday-Friday, so the idea of getting out by myself with 6 kids is just unbearable to think about!  No way, not happening!!

This is the last week of Savannah being here, and I am sad to see her go.  As hard as it is with the 3 girls fighting over toys, movies, bed space, well{everything}, she can be a huge help!  She loves to help clean, help with Brayden, and she is seriously funny!!

With all the kids running around, I have seriously neglected my "job" as a Park Lane jewelry consultant!  I have not had a single sell in months, and for the most part, I am okay with that.  I do love selling jewelry, so I hope that I can get my business back up and running!!

For our family, the approaching school year means birthdays!  Starting with Savannah's, who will be 9 tomorrow!  Next is Brayden, who will be 1 on August 26th, and then Maddison, who will be 7 on September 3rd.  It makes me love Ella so much since her birthday is in the middle of October, thank goodness, so we get a little break from the birthday maddness!

We have finished back to school shopping for uniforms and school supplies thanks to my dad and wonderful step mom, Sandie!!  They have been a huge help, and took on the burden of shopping for us!  Maddi will be decked out to the 9's in her awesome school uniforms!  They also went above and beyond and bought her school supplies, a new back pack and lunch box!  She is definitely ready!!  Thanks to Dillard's and Target for putting up with my rowdy children that day!

Savannah, had the choice of getting school clothes or regular clothes, and she choose new, awesome {not school} clothes!  She is a fashionista, and was not about to pass up an opportunity for in style attire!!  She did get a new backpack and lunch box though!!  And just for being so cute, Ella got a new outfit and a new journal to color in, so she did not feel leftout of school shopping!!  I love my dad and step mom so much for taking that burden off of our shoulders!!!  They are truly amazing!!

My mom has also been a huge hit this summer, taking Maddison for a week and Ella twice for a week by herself.  My girls love going to hang with their Grani {or Goopey or Sparkle, depending on the day you ask them}, and it means a lot to my mom to get that special time with them.  We don't let Savannah go, because her time is already limited with her dad, so she gets to stay in our boring house all summer!!

The countdown is on!  One week left, and school officially starts!  Am I ready for an empty {for the most part} house?  Am I ready to have a first grader??  I guess no matter what, I have to be!!

I hope you all enjoy your last week of summer!!  I know I am going to!

So What Wednesday

  • So what if I am tired of buying baby food and made my own sweet potato puree last night!  Brayden loved it, it was easy and cheap, and I have a ton of leftovers to freeze!  Score, Score, and Score!
  • So what if I am nervous about writing a resume!  I have NEVER had to write one!!
  • So what if I love being a jewelry consultant for Jewels by Park Lane, but the money just isn't rolling in like I want it too, which is why I have to write a resume!
  • So what if I think everyone who has a blog should sign up with Social Spark!  What is not too love, you get paid to blog and you can accept or turn down any of the offers!!!
  • So what if I have been avoiding house cleaning like the plague, I will do it eventually *ok more like later today, well probably*
  • So what if our family trip to the movies turned out to be a big old flop *which really means I was in the hallway with the baby*, the girls had fun and I loved eating my Mr. Goodbar at home all day yesterday!
  • So what if the girls and I had cereal for dinner last night.  We got home from the store at 7 after my first ever Ad Match shopping trip to Wal-Mart.
What are your So What's for the week???  Go ahead, get it off your chest!!!

Father's Day Weekend

So my weekend ended up being just as busy as I thought it was going to be, maybe even a bit busier since I didn't seem to have any time to take any pictures!  Seriously, none!  I am such a horrible blogger LOL  It was a great weekend to celebrate though!  I had a Jewels by Park Lane party, a birthday party for friend's little boy and of course Father's Day!

The only bad thing was not getting to spend enough time with my hubby, since he had to work.  We did get treated to a special breakfast by my step mom!  She made waffles, eggs, and sausage, yummo!!  What a great way to send Marco off to work for the day!!  I was able to nap with the baby while the girls and my dad went to a nearby park till lunch time.  We had fajitas, homemade rice, and beans for lunch, it was also delicious.  The kids and I hung out for most of the afternoon, then I packed up a plate for Marco and a bottle of wine and headed home.  It was a great way to spend Father's Day!

To make up for Marco working on Father's Day, he decided to take a family trip to the movies last night, and the girls' and Marco had a great time watching Kung Fu Panda 2.  I was in the hallway, bathroom, and ended up in the truck with the baby.  *Not the best way to see a movie, so I definitely don't recommend it!*  Marco and I ended the night with some Real Housewives of New Jersey (RHONJ) and some Taco Cabana.  We were woken up at 3 AM to thunder, lightning, rain, 65+ mph wind gusts, and quarter size hail here in Lewisville, but the good thing is all 3 kids slept through it and nothing was damaged.

I promised to give you my top reasons why my hubby is a great father, and so with out further adieu, here they are:
  • He loves our kids with all his heart
  • He works so extremely hard to provide for us and our needs
  • He loves to make them laugh
  • He loves cooking with them
  • He is great at negotiating with them, especially when I can't
  • Maddi is already such a big daddy's girl

There are so many more, but I have to get ready to grocery shop!  I hope everyone had a great Father's Day weekend!  What did you do???

Awkward and Awesome Thursday

This has been the longest week ever, and it is only Thursday!!  I am so ready for it to be over, since my hubby has 2 days off!  Let's get right to it!

AWKWARD
  • Maddi having to go to school for 4 extra days because of the snow days that Lewisville did not make up.
  • Lewisville not doing a kinder graduation or any kind of formal awards ceremony.  This was not awkward, but I am super disappointed!
  • Watching tv for hours and hours and hours because it is too darn hot to do anything else!
  • Feeling very BLAH and unaccomplished watching so much tv.
  • Not really knowing how to get my Park Lane business going.  I have never done direct sales before, and I don't think I am doing very well yet.
  • Feeling like I am hounding people to book a Park Lane party with me, to try to get my business going.  I need help, and I don't feel like I am getting very much.
  • Being in between sizes from losing weight and not having the size pants that I need.  My bigger size falls off and looks horrible, but the smaller size is still a little snug and gives me a muffin top!  Neither one are ideal, but I am cheap and I am not going to go buy the middle size.
  • My moms wallet disappearing somewhere in my house, and it is no where to be found.
AWESOME
  • My hubby getting 2 days off for our anniversary!
  • Making it another year with the hubs, 6 years down and a lifetime to go!
  • The amount of fun we had on our night away in Austin!
  • My blog hitting 100 followers!
  • Summer officially starts for us when Maddi gets out of school at 1:15!
  • Putting in my first Park Lane order, and getting my mom $250 in free jewelry!!  Ask me how I can get you free jewelry too!!
  • Maddi's small and informal awards ceremony yesterday.  She got the award for "Teacher in Training"  She was a huge helper to her teacher and she is great at bossing her little sister around, I think she will be an awesome teacher!
  • Brayden growing so much in the last month!  We now have 3 teeth, he is a speed crawler, he has taken some steps, he says mama, ella, dada go and go guys!  *Go guys is my fav at the moment, can you tell we have been cheering on the Mavs*
  • The Mavs clawing back to win game 4!  Game 5 is tonight and we are still at home!

So What Wednesday

Have you seen that I reached 100 followers and that I am having a giveaway??  Check it out here!!

I am linking up again with Life After I Dew, for another edition of So What Wednesday!!
  • So what if I carry a Park Lane catalog and order forms with me in my diaper bag.  I guess I am hoping to sell to someone that I would meet in a store, but that would involve me leaving the house with my hair fixed and my makeup done, and that hasn't happened lately.
  • So what if I feel like a blob since I haven't worked out in a week in a half!!  I need to get off of my booty and get to work!
  • So what if I hate that my stuff never sells on Craigslist!  I need it gone people, please buy it!
  • So what if I never make my bed in the mornings but I always fix the sheets before I get back in it to go to sleep.
  • So what if it has been too hot for me to wear makeup or fix my hair.  I am not really going anywhere anyways.
  • So what if I cannot tell you the last book that I read.  I never can find time to read, except at night, and then I just want to fall asleep.
  • So what if last night's game between the Mavs and the Heat was a nail bitter, the Mavs pulled it out!!!
What are your So What's for the week??
